To enable students to acquire and/or develop communicative skills in Portuguese at different language levels.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading


Students enrolled in this course are not assessed. In order to obtain a diploma and an attendance certificate they need to attend at least 75% of the classes taught.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

Taking as reference the descriptors of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, students should be able to:
Pre-intermediate Level (B1): understand the main points of straightforward texts on subjects related to the students’ personal interests; produce simple and consistent texts about personal experiences and matters of personal interest; briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans; interact in informal situations showing some ease in the use of a repertoire of frequently used sentences in predictable situations.
