Intensive Course of Portuguese as a Foreign Language - Initiation Level A1

General Objectives of the Course

To enable students to acquire and/or develop communicative skills in Portuguese at different language levels. The course will provide skills conforming to a A1 level.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Students enrolled in this course are not assessed. In order to obtain a diploma and an attendance certificate they need to attend at least 75% of the classes taught.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

Taking as reference the descriptors of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, students should be able to:
Beginners Level (A1): acquire or improve communicative skills in Portuguese aiming at understand and apply vocabulary related to daily activities and basic needs using simple sentences; to be able to understand simple and short written and spoken texts, both informative and descriptive; to be able to write simple sentences and short texts; to be able to interact orally in different situations relating to everyday life.
