English Language Course, Intermediate level I

General Objectives of the Course

This is a general language course for adults who need to speak and write English in a variety of situations. Students have the opportunity to discover how the language works for them, by studying carefully selected examples with the guidance of their teacher.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must be aged 16 years or over. Candidates must take a test (mandatory) to evaluate English proficiency or having successfully completed English Language Course, level Pre-intermediate II in the last two years.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

There is continuous evaluation with two written tests per semester, and the possibility of doing a final exam.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

At the end of the 120 hour course students will have the confidence and skills necessary to deal with day-to-day situations in English on an intermediate level. Part I of the course completes CEFR B1 and Part II starts B2.

Graduation Requirements

As a rule, continuous assessment is the preferential regime to assess our students’ knowledge which requires 75% attendance and completion of two assessment tests. Other elements such as class participation, homework and tasks performed throughout the course, are also taken into account for evaluation. At the end of each level, students can request the corresponding certificate, if the course has been successfully completed.
