English Language Course, Elementary Level II
General Objectives of the Course
This is a general language course for adults who need to speak and write English in a variety of situations. Students have the opportunity to discover how the language works for them by studying carefully selected examples with the guidance of their teacher. The syllabus combines the learning of new language with the development of functional skills and an equal importance is given to vocabulary and grammar, which are incorporated in the listening and speaking activities.Admission Requirements
Applicants must be aged 16 years or over. Candidates must take a test (mandatory) to evaluate English proficiency unless the applicant have successfully completed English Language course, Elementary Level I in the 1st semester in the last two years.

There is continuous evaluation with two written tests per semester, and the possibility of doing a final exam.Learning Objectives and Intended Skills
Grammar is an important element to the syllabus and includes areas such as: possessives, Present Simple, Past Simple, Present Continuous and be going to future, comparatives, frequency expressions, adverbs and adjectives and their comparative forms. Given the importance of vocabulary to successful communication, the lexical fields of this course include; free time activities, eating out, going shopping, talking about the news, renting a flat and asking for and giving directions.At the end of the 120 hour course students will have the confidence and skills necessary to deal with day-to-day situations in English on an elementary level. Part I of the course reviews CEFR A1 and Part II takes students to the end of A2.

As a rule, continuous assessment is the preferential regime to assess our students’ knowledge which requires 75% attendance and completion of two assessment tests. Other elements such as class participation, homework and tasks performed throughout the course, are also taken into account for evaluation. At the end of each level, students can request the corresponding certificate, if the course has been successfully completed.
