German Language and Culture VI

General Objectives of the Course

German Language and Culture - Level VI aims to teach written and spoken German language both at reception and production level. The course objectives follow the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for B1 level.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Successful course completion supposes the realization of all the proposed activities; the evaluation is expressed in a final grade on a scale of 0-20 points. Minimal pass grade is 10 points.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

At the end of level B1 of the CEFR, students will have the following language skills:
• Can understand the main points of regularly encountered issues in work, school, leisure, etc..
• Can handle almost all everyday situations in German.
• Can write simple and well organized texts on a well known subject .
• Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Regulation n.º 339/2012, published in Official Gazette no. 152, 2. Grade, August 7th (Regulation of Creation and Operation of non-degree courses at the UC).

Graduation Requirements

As a rule, continuous assessment is the preferential regime to assess our students’ knowledge which requires 75% attendance and completion of two assessment tests. Other elements such as class participation, homework and tasks performed throughout the course, are also taken into account for evaluation. At the end of each level, students can request the corresponding certificate, if the course has been successfully completed.
