General Objectives of the Course
Teach Biomedical Sciences specially related with Prosthetic Oral Rehabilitation; stimulate and develop a scientific attitude to improve professional interest; teach and understand literature; stimulate research activities and oral / written presentation concerning scientific and clinical results.Admission Requirements
The Postgraduate Course in Prosthetics Oral Reabilitation is intended to graduates in Medicine (with a specialization in Stomatology) and Graduates in Dentistry who wish to practice this activity.
Candidates to this course may only be holders of an integrated 2nd cycle studies diploma, pre Bologna Process Bachelors in Dentistry or in Medicine with a specialization in Stomatology.

As assessment is a pedagogical activity inseparable from the teaching process, its aim is to establish the students' competencies and knowledge, their critical sense, ability to recognize and resolve problems, as well as their written and oral presentation skills. Students may only register for exams for classes they are currently registered for under the terms of number 6 of article 4 of the University of Coimbra Pedagogical Policy. The following are examples of assessment items: Oral or written exams, written or practical work, individual and group projects that may require an oral defense, as well as class participation. Assessment for each class may include one or more of the above mentioned items. Grading is based on a scale of 0 to 20 and a grade of 10 is required to pass. Whenever assessment includes more than one item, the final grade is calculated by taking into account the relative weight of each item according to a formula published in the course outline under the terms of number 2 of article 7 of the UC Pedagogical Policy.Learning Objectives and Intended Skills
To be able to identify the anomalies of the denture, facial structures and both anatomic and physiological conditions; to produce a treatment plan and to foresee its development; to evaluate psychological aspects concerning the performance of Prosthetic Oral Rehabilitation; to take interceptive actions; to perform simple and complex treatments; to use all available resources to improve professional information.Course Coordinator(s)

Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulation of the University of Coimbra.Qualification Requirements and Regulations

To accomplish this course it is required a successful assessment in:
a) Lecturers
• Removable prosthetic + Combined prosthetic – 14 ECTS
• Fixed prosthetic – implant prosthetic – 14 ECTS
• Occlusal rehabilitation – 10 ECTS
b) Pre-clinic and Clinic course, Seminars (2nd year) 22 ETCS
• Pre-clinic and Clinic course, Seminars - 60 ETCS
Access to Further Studies
The Post Graduate Degree in Postgraduate Course in Oral Reabilitation Prosthetics does not grant a degree but it allows the student to have access to a higher level training, namely 2nd cycle studies (Master’s Degree) an 3rd Cycle (PhD).Study Programme
