General Objectives of the Course

This B2 Upper-Intermediate course aims to develop the advanced communicative
competence and linguistic precision necessary to excel in a global corporate environment. By the end of the course, students will be able to manage professional interactions confidently, including pitching ideas, networking, and navigating social plans. Operationally, learners will gain the skills to run project update meetings, manage schedules, delegate tasks, and resolve complex issues over the phone. Furthermore, students will be equipped to handle high-stakes professional scenarios, such as negotiating with colleagues, evaluating staff performance in appraisals, and discussing data trends. These practical outputs are supported by advanced linguistic structures, enabling students to master narrative tenses, manipulate conditional clauses, use the passive voice, and command phrasal verbs to address complex business situations smoothly.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must be aged 16 years or over. Successful completion of the English Language Course, Intermediate Level II within the last two years, or demonstration of language proficiency at the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

As a rule, continuous assessment is the preferential regime to assess our students’ knowledge which requires 75% attendance and completion of two assessment tests.
Other elements such as class participation, homework and tasks performed throughout the course, are also taken into account for evaluation.

Final grade: 0-20 grade

By the end of this course, students will have developed the upper intermediate language skills and communicative competence necessary to thrive in a global business environment. They will be able to network confidently, deliver clear personal presentations, and professionally handle casual workplace conversations or formal visitor logistics. Operationally, learners will possess the ability to manage workflows, delegate tasks, lead teleconferences, and efficiently handle orders and supply chain logistics. Furthermore, students will be fully equipped to navigate high-stakes professional scenarios, such as pitching innovative ideas, presenting complex data visually, negotiating agreements, and participating effectively in performance reviews. These practical capabilities are backed by strong linguistic precision, meaning students can accurately manipulate grammar tenses, use polite indirect phrasing, utilize the passive voice to explain processes, and strategically resolve organizational breakdowns or public relations crises.
