General Objectives of the Course

Enable participants to use therapeutic communication strategies applied to therapeutic education that promote decision-making.
Recognize the importance of person-centered and empathetic communication in therapeutic education.
Use communication strategies involving exploration, legitimation, and transition in therapeutic education.
Apply health literacy promotion strategies, such as Ask-Build-Check, Chunk and Check, and Teach-back, in therapeutic education.
Apply clinical communication strategies in face-to-face consultations, teleconsultations and digital interactions.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

By the end of the course, trainees should be able to: Communicate health information in a clear, simple and accessible way, adapted to the person's health literacy needs. Apply strategies such as Ask-Build-Check, Chunk and Check, and Teach-back in therapeutic education. Promote the person's active participation in managing their health and in the decision-making process. Integrate principles and models of shared decision-making, namely the SHARE model.
