Training Course on Heuristic Optimisation

Department of Informatics Engineering Diploma/Certificate

General Objectives of the Course

The course aims to develop the ability to solve combinatorial optimisation problems for which optimal solutions cannot usually be found in a reasonable amount of time. Problems of this type arise regularly in the fields of engineering, planning and management. Starting from a description of a problem, the successful student should be able to relate it to other known problems, identify appropriate heuristic approaches to solving it, develop a suitable model, and implement an effective solving procedure efficiently.

Admission Requirements

1) Being enrolled with or having concluded a higher-education course in a scientific, technological or related area, or possessing professional experience relevant to the Heuristic Optimisation course in those areas; 2) Proven programming knowledge; 3) English language skills (oral and written comprehension and expression)

Candidates should check the admission requirements available on this site, in addition to the information provided here.
