Specialized Training in Therapeutic Education in Cardiology

General Objectives of the Course

1. To strengthen nurses’ advanced skills in integrated care and the promotion of therapeutic self-care among people living with cardiovascular disease, through the structured application of therapeutic education strategies, person-centred communication, improved clinical documentation and the use of digital and technological tools, thereby contributing to the modernisation of healthcare, digital transformation and the improvement of the quality, safety and continuity of care.
2. Modernise care using simulation tools and other digital and technological products that enhance education and therapeutic self-care
3. Retrain and update the skills of healthcare professionals in light of technological advances that have a significant impact on the integration of care for people living with cardiovascular disease.

Admission Requirements

Nurses in practice in the hospital and primary health care context, with experience in caring for people living with cardiovascular disease. Must be available to attend a training day in person and know how to use the digital technologies needed to attend an asynchronous training course.

Learning outcomes are assessed individually through a final quantitative scale of 0-to 20 values.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

1. Integrate digital technologies into cardiology, promoting the use of digital tools for decision support, monitoring and clinical information management.
2. Develop skills in therapeutic education and person-centred communication for people living with cardiovascular disease, thereby improving treatment adherence, self-management of the condition and health outcomes.
3. Improve the quality and standardization of clinical documentation, adopting practices that facilitate continuity, integration and safety of care across different levels of the healthcare system.
4. Incorporate innovative teaching methodologies, including clinical simulation tools and technological resources.
5. Promote the continuous updating and adaptation of skills using new digital solutions in clinical practice, within organizations and among healthcare teams.
6. Contribute to the modernization of practice, encouraging more integrated, collaborative and digitally supported models of care.
