Training Course in: Security, Privacy and Digital Fraud in the Social Media

General Objectives of the Course

The course aims to provide participants with fundamental knowledge of security, privacy and digital fraud in the context of social media, including an understanding of the main types of fraudulent schemes, social engineering techniques and forms of digital manipulation, such as deepfakes. It also seeks to promote the adoption of good digital security and personal data protection practices, enabling participants to prevent fraud, critically assess online content and act in an informed and responsible manner in the everyday use of social media and other digital services.

Admission Requirements

Candidates with a base training in NON-STEAM areas with knowledge of IT from the user's perspective, and with basic knowledge of the Internet and navigation with browsers.

The learning outcomes are assessed individually through an online quiz, minimum of 2/3.

Development of the ability to identify security and privacy risks in social media, recognise attempts at digital fraud and manipulated content, including deepfakes, and adopt informed and secure behaviours in the everyday use of digital platforms.
