Specialization Course in Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare - Development Profile
General Objectives of the Course
The course aims to provide professionals and students with technical training withfundamental literacy in the application and development of solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical practice and biomedical research. The main objectives are: Deepen technical skills in data science and artificial intelligence applied to healthcare; Train participants in the development and validation of AI models orientated towards clinical problems; Ensure the application of ethical, regulatory and explainability principles; Foster interdisciplinary collaboration between technical and clinical areas; Prepare participants for applied research and
the integration of emerging technologies in healthcare.

Young people and adults who have a degree or are currently attending a degree course in non-STEAM areas.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to: Understand the fundamental knowledge and skills for designing and implementing AI-based solutions applied to concrete problems in healthcare; Recognise the potential of AI in the development of biomarkers, particularly with regard to improving diagnosis and controlling progression, integrating explainability techniques, promoting trust and interpretability of automated processes, and critically analysing sources of bias; Assess the ethical and legal challenges associated with the adoption of these technologies in healthcare, promoting reflection on responsibility, transparency and decision-making; Plan, develop and implement AI-based tools for specific clinical problems.Qualification Requirements and Regulations
