Foundational Course in Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare - Clinical Application Profile
General Objectives of the Course
The course will equip participants with the skills to understand and apply AI-basedsolutions in the context of healthcare and biomedical research. Aimed at healthcare professionals and PhD students, the course has the following objectives: (1) Promote artificial intelligence literacy among healthcare professionals; (2) Train participants in the critical and informed use of AI-based tools; (3) Raise awareness of the ethical, legal and safety aspects associated with the use of AI in the context of healthcare; (4) Facilitate communication and collaboration between clinical professionals and technicians specializing in AI; (5) Encourage the active involvement of healthcare professionals in the evaluation, adoption and implementation of emerging technologies in healthcare systems.
Admission Requirements
Young people and adults who have a degree or are currently attending a degree course in non-STEAM areas.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to: Understand the fundamental knowledge and skills for the understanding and informed use of AI-based solutions applied in the context of healthcare; Recognise the potential of AI in the discovery and validation of biomarkers and in the personalisation of care; Critically interpret the results of AI tools, assessing their potential and limitations; Recognise the potential of AI in education and training; Discuss the ethical and legal challengesassociated with the adoption of these technologies in healthcare, promoting reflection on accountability, transparency and decision-making; Collaborate effectively with technical teams in the assessment, adoption and integration of AI-based solutions.
