Group Psychotherapeutic Intervention Training Course: STOP Programs
General Objectives of the Course
- Provide psychologists with the knowledge to implement STOP Procrastination and Insomnia psychotherapy groups.- Promote the implementation of psychotherapy groups in other institutions aimed at reducing emotional distress related to procrastination and insomnia, with particular emphasis on higher education
institutions.
- Encourage improved response from Health Services in higher education by increasing the number of specialized low- and moderate-intensity mental health interventions, according to the Stepped Care
Model.
- Encourage the evaluation of the effectiveness of group psychotherapy intervention programs.

- Acquire up-to-date theoretical and scientific knowledge about group psychotherapy interventions and the problems of procrastination and insomnia;- Understand the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) model;
- Explore the contributions of self-compassion;
- Develop skills to apply ACT in group psychotherapy interventions focused on procrastination and insomnia;
- Train professionals to implement ACT-based group intervention programs aimed at reducing procrastination and insomnia, with an emphasis on the context of higher education institutions.
