Training Course Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education

General Objectives of the Course

Understand the fundamentals and key characteristics of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), analyzing its relevance and applicability in teaching, learning, and research contexts within higher education. CCritically analyze the potential and limitations of GenAI, reflecting on its impact on pedagogical and scientific processes in academic settings. Debate ethical challenges, responsible use of GenAI, and the importance of maintaining pedagogical and scientific rigor in academic practices. Explore widely available GenAI tools, promoting their critical and creative use, and encourage the development of domain-specific applications across different fields of study. Critically evaluate the effects and outcomes of integrating GenAI into teaching practices and knowledge production in higher education, based on evidence and contextualized experiences.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

To understand the basic concepts and main applications of Artificial Intelligence, with an emphasis on Generative Artificial Intelligence, in educational contexts; to identify, evaluate, and apply GenAI tools in the teaching and learning process; to develop strategies that enable students to use GenAI tools in a critical, ethical, and responsible way; and to analyze and discuss ethical issues related to the use of GenAI in teaching and research.
