Korean Language Course II

General Objectives of the Course

This course is aimed at improving the balance of four functions of listening, speaking, reading and writing to the students who finished 'Korean 1'. Students will develop their abilities to understand and express basic Korean language based on Korean alphabet education, and will learn Korean grammar and idiomatic expressions that should be understood at the beginner level.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must be aged 16 years or over. Skills in Korean at level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, or successful completion of the Korean Language Course I in the last two years.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Continuous assessment, which requires 75% attendance and the completion of two assessment tests. Other factors are also taken into account, such as participation during classes, completion of homework, and tasks performed throughout the course.

Final grade: 0-20 grade.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

The main contents of the course are composed of everyday subjects required for daily life. Make it possible to connect speaking, listening, reading and writing exercises through various thematic assignments. They are also able to have enough Korean ability to communicate with Korean people. With communication skills as a top priority, students will be able to speak Korean in a natural and appropriate context. The goal is to improve communication through grammar, conversation, assignments, reading, listening, writing, vocabulary, pronunciation, intonation, and cultural learning. It also aims to enable elementary students to practice and nurture Korean naturally through dialogue.
