Specialization Course – Symptom Control in Pediatric Palliative Care

General Objectives of the Course

Paediatric Palliative Care is an expanding area in Portugal, with several teams under development, both specialist and generalist. Training about this topic in our country is still incipient, therefore this course aims to deepen the knowledge of doctors and nurses working or planning to work in this area. With a focus on children with complex symptoms, which are often difficult to manage by primary care services or paediatric subspecialties, we aim to provide professionals in this area with the essential tools for a prompt and holistic control of these symptoms. Better care provision will lead to a better quality of life for children and families, as well as higher levels of satisfaction for the professionals.
