Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

As assessment is a pedagogical activity inseparable from teaching, it aims to evaluate the competencies and knowledge acquired by students, their critical thinking, their ability to formulate and solve problems, as well as their proficiency in written and oral expression. The rules for attendance, assessment, and grading are defined in the Attendance and Assessment Regulations and the Year Transition, Prerequisites, and Prescriptions Regime of the Coimbra School of Nursing, with the adaptations introduced by the RAUC.
The grade for each student in each curricular unit is expressed as an integer between 0 and 20, and students are considered to have passed if they obtain a minimum final grade of 10. The final grade in the course results from the weighted arithmetic mean of the grades obtained in the curricular units. The weighting of each curricular unit corresponds to the number of ECTS of that unit.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

The Licenciado em Enfermagem should possess several instrumental, interpersonal and systemic competences in accordance with the profile of competencies for generalist nurses of the Ordem dos Enfermeiros (Portugues Nursing Council) in the areas related to the professional, ethical and legal practice, care provision and management, and professional development.
