Training Course in: Management and Organization of Digital Information – for teachers

General Objectives of the Course

Understand the characteristics, supports and formats of digital information;
Understand the importance of organizing and representing digital information for its retrieval and use; Know the components of an integrated information management system; Analyze use cases of integrated information management systems; Understand the principles, steps and resources necessary for planning digitalization projects; Understand the characteristics and advantages of free software; Explore different digital workflow solutions.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

The evaluation of the trainees will be made on a quantitative scale, from 1 to 10 values, in accordance with paragraph 6 of Article 4 of Order 4595/2015, of 6 May: - Excellent - from 9 to 10 values; - Very Good - from 8 to 8.9 values; - Good - from 6.5 to 7.9 values; - Regular - from 5 to 6.4 values; - Insufficient - from 1 to 4.9.
Students will be deemed successful if they obtain a classification equal to or higher than 5/20 and if they attend 2/3 of the specified number of joint contact hours;
At the beginning of the course, the evaluation parameters will be clarified with the trainees.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

Information Systems Management: Develop skills in the implementation and administration of digital systems, ensuring efficiency and security; Data Organization: Master data organization techniques, from the standardization of databases to the effective structuring of information systems; Data Analysis: Use analytical tools to extract insights from data sets, supporting informed decision making; Development of Digital Policies: Participate in the creation and implementation of digital policies, aligning practices with current standards and regulations.

Graduation Requirements

Access to Further Studies

Successful completion of this training is a preferential criterion for entry into the Postgraduate Course in Management of Information Services for Archive, Library and Museum, as long as the admission conditions are met and in accordance with the number of defined vacancies. Graduates who subsequently enter Postgraduate Studies will have this training recognized in the corresponding Postgraduate curricular unit.
