Japanese Language and Culture Course – level VII
General Objectives of the Course
Building on the knowledge and skills acquired in the courses of Japanese Language and Culture I to V, this course enables students to understand and express utterances related to the main issues, when clear and standardized language is used, and familiar topics such as personal information, family, shopping, local geography, studies, work, among others. Students will develop essential communication skills related to personal and family interests such as describing experiences, dreams, hopes and ambitions as well as briefly stating reasons and justifications for an opinion or a project.Admission Requirements
Applicants must be aged 16 years or over. Skills in Japanese at level B1.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, or successful completion of the Course in Japanese Language and Culture VI in the last two years.

In oral language, students will develop the ability to understand the essential points of a spoken sequence that deals with current affairs at work, school, leisure, etc. and to understand problems in their immediate environment and describe activities to solve them in everyday life for personal interest, and to understand a person's life from birth to the end of life and recognize work done for them, especially when the speech rate is relatively slow and clear. In reading, students will acquire the ability to find information and simple texts in everyday use, for example adverts, leaflets, menus, timetables and prices, and understand short, simple personal letters/emails. In writing, students will develop vocabulary, grammar and kanji characters to describe experiences and events, dreams, desires and ambitions of personal interest by articulating expressions in a simple way, and to explain or justify opinions and plans.Qualification Requirements and Regulations
