Specialization Course in Green Chemistry and Sustainability - Teachers Training
General Objectives of the Course
The overall aim of the course is to train primary and secondary school teachers ofphysical chemistry, or other natural sciences, in the area of green chemistry and sustainability, with a view to achieving the following specific objectives: i) Acquire the principles of green chemistry to promote them in their classrooms, fostering a generation of environmentally conscious chemists and citizens; ii) Train teachers/citizens who are aware of environmental problems, capable of contributing to a more sustainable future; iii) Analyze the ethical implications of experimental activities in chemistry to increase the sustainability of the planet and develop
responsible choice skills in students.

Degree in physics, chemistry or biology teaching of basic and secondary levels.

The final grade for the course will correspond to the arithmetic mean of the marks obtained in each of the components of the continuous assessment (Written research paper on the implementation of Green Chemistry Principles in Primary and Secondary Education or creation of a didactic proposal with experimental activity - 50%; Presentation of a seminar on the work carried out - 50%). The final grade will be presented on a quantitative scale (minimum: zero; maximum: 10 points).Learning Objectives and Intended Skills
It is intended that the students/teachers develop skills that allow them to carry out innovative classroom practices guided by principles of green chemistry. They should also understand the ethical implications of experimental activities in chemistry so that their students are capable of making responsible choices and establishing connections with the real world aimed at the sustainability of the planet.Qualification Requirements and Regulations
