Training Course in Green Chemistry in Physics and Chemistry Teaching: A Pass Towards Sustainability

General Objectives of the Course

The overall goal of this student course is to empower physical-chemistry students
to become environmentally conscious global citizens by fostering a deep understanding of Green Chemistry and sustainable development principles. To promote critical thinking and skills for solving problems, and inspiring a sense of responsibility to actively contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future. By focusing on these
goals, the course aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to actively participate in sustainable development efforts, both locally and globally.

Admission Requirements

Secondary School students enrolled in the Science and Technology course,
of any school grouping or non-grouped schools in the Alto Alentejo region.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

The proposed course aims to enable students from the Alto Alentejo region to develop scientific literacy that will enable them to understand the contributions of physical chemistry to improving the quality of life of citizens, in conjunction with sustainable development perspectives. Students should also develop attitudinal skills that enable them to exercise responsible, participatory and informed citizenship.
