General Objectives of the Course

To make the participants familiar to the problematics involved with structural
rehabilitation and strengthening of wood-based constructions, namely regarding the causes (biotic attack), parameters and evaluation criteria (durability and preservation EN standards, national standards for the rehabilitation of wooden constructions), preventive and curative procedures, analysis and design procedures and case studies.

Admission Requirements

Holders of first cycle (bachelor) courses or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Forestry or other related areas.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

The final grade of the course will correspond to that of the curricular unit of the course. It will be presented on a quantitative scale (minimum: 0; maximum: 20 values).

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

Understanding of the concepts and procedures involved in the rehabilitation and strengthening, in its various aspects, of wood-based construction and products. Capability to carry out inspection and monitoring works, production of the corresponding reports e, as needed, to develop the rehabilitation and strengthening design.
