General Objectives of the Course

- Fulfill the purpose of school science curricula and essential learning and PASEO skills.
- Realize the purpose of curricular flexibility.
- Complete an original basic training in Botany.
- Complete a project to be implemented at the School

Although it presents contents and examples in the area of sciences, the course is addressed to teachers and educators from all teaching levels and subject areas. Specific scope: Natural Sciences teachers/educators, groups 100, 110, 230, 520.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Final grade: Participation in the face-to-face session - 15%; autonomous work - 40%; test and final presentation - 45%.
The evaluation of the trainees will be made on a quantitative scale, from 1 to 10 values, in accordance with paragraph 6 of Article 4 of Order 4595/2015, of 6 May:
- Excellent - from 9 to 10 values;
- Very Good - from 8 to 8.9 values;
- Good - from 6.5 to 7.9 values;
- Regular - from 5 to 6.4 values;
- Insufficient - from 1 to 4.9.
Students will be deemed successful if they obtain a classification equal to or higher than 5/20 and if they attend 2/3 of the specified number of joint contact hours;
At the beginning of the course, the evaluation parameters will be clarified with the trainees.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

Favouring direct and real contact with various plants, preferably in an outdoor context, "Distinction and evolution of the main groups of plants" consists of basic training on Botany, which should be compulsory and integrate any Training for Trainers.
It is essential to know plants, autotrophic beings on which many living beings, such as Man, depend.
Plants are all around us, we must know and preserve them, even more so in the face of today's environmental challenges.
Summary of Specific Competences:
- To awaken, inform, teach, become aware of the importance, knowledge and interpretation of the plants that surround us;
- Identify and distinguish plants from the main plant groups;
- Understand and interpret the evolution of plants;
- Apply knowledge in case studies, especially in natural context, green spaces;
- Apply knowledge in different school approaches, levels of schooling and essential needs and learning.
- Develop motivation and creativity and educate for sustainability.
- To carry out a project in the School - school level and theme of the Trainee's choice.
