Training Course in Fundamentals of Promotion of Books and Reading in the Information Society - for teachers
General Objectives of the Course
At the end of the module, students must master theoretical and theoretical-practical skills about the book, reading, its promotion and mediation; develop skills of critical analysis, intervention and promotion of books and reading in the context of the information society; apply skills within the scope of school libraries and the National Reading Plan and plan activities related to books and reading.Admission Requirements

Mandatory presence in 2/3 of the training contact hours; Application of what is determined in the Legal regime for Continuous Training of teachers, Decree-law nº 22/2014, of February 11th, combined with Order nº 4595/2015, of May 6th and with the “Regulation for Accreditation and Crediting of Actions of Continuous formation. The classification of each trainee will be carried out on a scale of 1 to 10 as indicated in Order no. 4595/2015, of May 6, respecting all legal provisions for continuous assessment. Final classification is assigned based on a scale of 1 to 10 points, where: 9 to 10 = Excellent; 8 to 8.9 = Very Good; 7 to 7.9 = Good; 5 to 6.9 = Fair; 1 to 4.9 values = Insufficient.Learning Objectives and Intended Skills
By attending a "Fundamentals of Book and Reading Promotion course in the Information Society", librarian teachers, senior archival and museum technicians will develop multifaceted skills. They will master reading needs and habits from Baby Boomers to Generation Alpha, customizing strategies for different age groups. They will face the challenge of leiticide, exploring innovative solutions to revitalize reading. They will effectively implement national reading plans, with a focus on School Libraries. They will understand information behavior, facilitating access to information in the digital society. They will promote reading habits in the digital ecosystem, using digital tools and adapted strategies. They will actively participate in book and reading activities, including the Human Libraries movement, promoting inclusion and diversity. These skills, aligned with the digital and cultural context, enable trainees to effectively manage information in the information society, contributing to the educational and cultural enrichment of the community.Qualification Requirements and Regulations
