Postgraduate degree in Timber Construction

General Objectives of the Course

The course is a training offer in the field of Timber Engineering, transmitting advanced knowledge in the use of forest-based structural products, with the emphasis on timber and timber-based products, in Civil Engineering and Architecture, areas strongly related to the design and construction of new structures and the conservation and rehabilitation of existing ones. This course aims to provide students with advanced theoretical knowledge that is useful in practical applications, which is a significant added value concerning the contents traditionally taught in integrated master courses. Withal being founded on a common basis with the Master course in Timber Construction, also offered by the University of Coimbra, it creates a training offer without the obligation to carry out a project or internship in a company environment, which will widen the target audience and at the same time diversifies the training offer in the area of Timber Construction.
