Specialization Course in Concept and Design of Composite Structures
General Objectives of the Course
The course intends to create a training offer in the field of Timber Engineering aiming at transmitting advanced knowledge with specific emphasis on the combination of timber with other materials to create composite structures. This course aims to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge, that constitute a significant asset in the specific area of timber composite structures, transmitting advanced knowledge in the topics of modelling, ecological practices and sustainability, design and construction of new structures, and conservation and rehabilitation of existing ones. Withal being founded on a common basis with the Master course in Timber Construction, also offered by the University of Coimbra, it creates a specific and current offer that will attract a different target audience and that diversifies the University training offer in the area of Timber Construction.Admission Requirements
