Trianing Course - Bioinformatics in clinical data
General Objectives of the Course
The main goal of this course is providing to students, health professionals and from other related areas a multidisciplinary training in the management of clinical and biological information that allows a holistic and transdisciplinary approach to deal with issues related with the data handling and storage. Enable students to use artificial intelligence in the context of competitive biomedical research and personalized clinical practice, as well as in the challenges of multidisciplinary interpretation and the development of appropriate models. With this postgraduation, students are able to identify, select and implement different bioinformatics techniques for solving problems in a clinical, biological, biotechnological, industrial and commercial context, namely within the scope of activities related to Biobanks.Admission Requirements
Health professionals and technicians, researchers, with or without higher education, interested in acquiring skills in translational research, bigData and artificial intelligence.
Candidates should check the admission requirements available on this site, in addition to the information provided here.

The final classification is expressed on a qualitative scale of Approved or Failed. The student, in order to pass, must have a minimum attendance of 80% in classes and pass in the evaluation carried out in each modulel.Learning Objectives and Intended Skills
This course intends to provide knowledge for the analysis and interpretation of data (large volume, acquisition speed and variety) generated by large-scale technologies (next generation sequencing), widely used in clinical practice, in biomedical research, in product research and development. It is intended to enable the students to explore, develop and select bioinformatics strategies and tools appropriate to the different problems of "omic" data management, namely the analysis of large amounts of biological and clinical data to be stored on a dedicated server, in order to be at the forefront of the exploration of new products and of biotechnological research with high impact in precision medicine.Course Coordinator(s)
