Training Course in Tools to read coastal sedimentary archives of recent history
General Objectives of the Course
Understand how to apply tools for the recognition of past human interventions in coastal sedimentary records; Develop competencies of analysis and communication in the field of environmental sciences.Admission Requirements

At the end of the course, students should be able to: (1) select areas best fitted to retain a record of recent environmental changes; (2) select and apply the most suitable sampling methods to different sedimentary archives; (3) treat samples in the laboratory in order to separate elements with greater potential in terms of recognizing human influences (p. ex., microplastics and other debris, chemical elements…); (4) know dating methods that allow locating a sedimentary body on chronological scales; (5) relate known environmental changes to sediment characteristics; (6) interpret compositional changes in terms of natural and anthropogenic forcings.Qualification Requirements and Regulations
