Training Course in Marine macroalgae ecology, applications and benefits
General Objectives of the Course
Training course to school teachers and educators aims to highlight theimportance of the ocean, its sustainability and conservation; To characterize the ecology, taxonomy and cultivation of marine macroalgae; To identify marine macroalgae potential and applications, relating it with the main compounds and bioactivities; To identify the benefits of seaweeds; To prepare recipes based on
seaweeds.

The final grade is attributed on a scale of 1 to 10 points, where: 1 to 4.9 points - Insufficient, 5 to 6.9 points - Regular; 7.0 to 7.9 points - Good; 8 to 8.9 points - Very Good; 9 to 10 points – Excellent.Learning Objectives and Intended Skills
At the end of the course, trainees should have acquired knowledge about the ecology, cultivation, conservation and preservation of algae; know how to prepare analgae herbarium; To identify macroalgae applications, bioactivities compounds and chemical composition that allows to identify marine macroalgae as a balanced food product; recipes and preparation of food products; benefits and risks of seaweed consumption.
