Special Education Training Course

General Objectives of the Course

The Special Education Training Course seeks to respond to the market needs created by international guidelines and also by the most recent national legislation (namely the DL 54/2018 of 6 July), which focuses on building an inclusive school and whose implementation requires the collaboration of a wide range of actors. It is in this context that an individual educational programme should be included in the curricular plan of the class and in the educational project of the school, which refers to a truly participatory process, in which the regular education teacher and other educational agents assume an unknown protagonism until now and whose previous academic training did not foresee. Thus, it seeks to be an option for graduates and masters in education, either those who already have some training and/or practice in the field of special and inclusive education, or those who want to develop new skills that they perceive as useful for their professional practice.

Admission Requirements

Holders of masters in teaching, a degree in education sciences, education, teaching, psychology, special education and rehabilitation, social services, speech therapy, occupational therapy, sociology;
- National or foreign applicants holding an academic, scientific or professional curriculum vitae that is recognized by the statutorily competent body of the institution as attesting the capacity to carry out this course.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

To train teachers and other professionals working in the field of Special and Inclusive Education. Acquire fundamental concepts of Special Education. Evaluate, reflect on and implement efficient intervention processes that facilitate learning with the aim of inclusion.
