Teacher training action: 100 Years Saramago

General Objectives of the Course

a) Provide trainees with new tools, with regard to reading the works of José Saramago, both from a literary and didactic perspective; b) Analyze some narratives and expand references, taking into account the relevance of mandatory reading works in the Portuguese Teaching Program at different levels of education; c) Deepen the essential didactic/learning contents of the Saramaguiana work; d) To promote scientific updating in the field of Portuguese Literature, namely in Saramaguian Studies; e) Conceive and guide projects in the area of didactics in Portuguese and Literature; f) Reflect on Saramago's place in current education and his relationship with society.

Admission Requirements

a) Portuguese language teachers and Portuguese literature teachers in office; b) UC students in Masters in Portuguese Language Teaching and Portuguese Literature Teaching; b) Order of registration.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

The final grade is attributed on a scale of 1 to 10 points, where: 1 to 4.9 points - Insufficient, 5 to 6.9 points - Regular; 7.0 to 7.9 points - Good; 8 to 8.9 points - Very Good; 9 to 10 points - Excellent.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

Articulate the syllabus with new practices conducive to the development of scientific and citizenship skills; Establish an articulation between the different concepts of Saramaguian Literature; Deepen the knowledge of Portuguese literature present in the author's work; Plan learning experiences to be developed by trainees in a classroom context; Produce useful teaching materials for teaching practice, promoting innovation, creativity and sharing; To stimulate the articulation between scientific research and innovation in the teaching of Portuguese Language and Portuguese Literature; Contribute to updating and deepening the knowledge of teachers; Get to know other experiences of dynamization of reading; Share experiences and exchange opinions about the pedagogical activity, exploring the author's potential; Select some activities to be applied to students, in the classroom or outside the classroom, based on the most up-to-date research.
