Cambridge First Certificate – B2 Level - Exam Preparation Course

General Objectives of the Course

Planned to last two semesters, it is a course for students over the age of 16 who are interested in obtaining the B2 - CEFR level certificate issued by Cambridge University Press and Assessment. It specifically targets students who aim to continue their study abroad and require an internationally recognized and accepted certificate. It is also intended for students who need to enrich their curriculum in order to apply for a job. During the course students will be prepared to develop their speaking, writing and use of English skills in order to be able to take the level B2 -FCE (First Certificate in English) exam at the end of the second semester.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must be aged 16 years or over. Candidates must take a test to evaluate their proficiency in English or must have successfully completed the English language course, Intermediate II level in the last two years.

Learning Objectives and Intended Skills

Upon completion of the course students will be able to understand the main ideas of a complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialisation. Students will have the skills to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with users of the target language quite possible without imposing strain on either party. They will also be able to produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
