Hugo Filipe dos Santos Caetano is a Civil Engineer and holds a Ph.D. in Fire Safety Engineering in the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Coimbra (UC), completed in 2019 and approved unanimously with distinction. He is now a PhD Researcher at UC within the Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering (ISISE) and his principal research interests lie in the areas of mechanical characterization at ambient temperature and fire of concrete materials, with and without fibres (steel, polypropylene, textiles and Ethylene Politerephthalate chips) and nano particles. In addition, he participated in the FRISCC research project (Fire Resistance of Innovative and Slender Concrete Filled Tubular Composite Columns, RFSR-CT-2012-00025) and is currently collaborating on two research projects: NANOFIRE (NanoFire - Thermal and Mechanical behavior of NanoCements and their application in steel construction as fire protection) and EVACUARFLORESTA (Evacuation decisions and plans in wildfire scenarios). He is (co-)author of 21 papers, published in the last five years, 3 articles in international journals with scientific arbitration listed in the first Percentile on the Web of Science (in construction technology) and 12 papers in international (7) and national (5) congresses. Finally, was co-supervisor of 1 Master's Degree Dissertation in UC.
