– To develop a critical view of myths related to the ageing process.

– To acquire a view of human development that takes the average life span into consideration.

1. Conceptual framework:

1.1. definition and characterisation of the concept of active ageing

1.2. comparative analysis of the concepts of Quality of Life; Well-being; Successful Ageing

 2. removing barriers to active ageing

 2.1. myths, prejudices, implicit and explicit forms of discrimination

 2.2. Architecture and quality of life.

 2.3. Identity and personality in adulthood:

 2.4. The concept of wisdom, and transcendence and morality in adults: implications for intervention.

3. Personal development

3.1. Introduction to the concept of personal development and intervention, optimisation and activation of potential.


4. Psychosocial interventions with the elderly population

4.1. Well-being and psychosocial needs assessment

4.2. Psychosocial intervention with older people and people around them
