It is recommended for students to have attended successfully all the units from 1st and 2nd years of Phase 1of the course IMP. All recommended are reading and understanding skills in English and Spanish, in addition to Portuguese.

Learning Outcomes
It is aimed that students grasp the virtues and potentialities of this scientific area, or in other words, that they know what is the object of study of this scientific field, which models are associated with it, the research topics and application or intervention areas, as well as contexts and resources of professional educational psychologists. Moreover, there is also the objective that students know how to distinguish this area from others that are very close or that are part of it (such as School Psychology and Psychology of Instruction).
Specific goals and competencies: to define the professional dimension of the Educational Psychologist; to discuss the instrumentality of the contents running in the educational psychologist practice; to identify the role(s) of the Educational Psychologist in different educational contexts; to develop research skills and intervention skills important in the field of Educational Psychology.
