Objectives and Profile of the Programme
The Forensic Masters favours the development of knowledge acquired in the 1st Cycle with the aim of consolidating the legal background essential to the practice of legal professions. Besides, subparagraph (c) of nr. 1 of art. 15 of Decree-Law nr. 74/2006 describes the desired qualifications for the Masters' students in this area, mentioning the "capacity to integrate knowledge, face complex questions, develop solutions or make evaluations in situations with limited or incomplete information, including reflexions on the ethical and social implications and liabilities raised by those solutions and evaluations, or conditioning them. ) A Forensic Masters with a 3 semesters duration and 90 ECTS, without numeri clausi, composed by an annual specialisation course and a semester thesis. This Masters' aim is to provide to all Law graduates a specialisation directed to the practice of traditional professions in forensic area, maxime to qualify for the Bar Association and the Centre of Forensic Studies.

The conclusion of the 2nd Cycle of Law Studies allows the access to the 3rd Cycle of Studies in several areas of knowledge.
Admission Requirements
The access to the course of study leading to master's degree is done by submitting an application, the deadline set by the Director of the School. May apply to the course leading to a Master's degree: - Holders of a degree in law or legal equivalent; - Holders of a foreign academic degree conferred following a 1. Cycle of studies organized according to law the principles of the Bologna Process by a State acceding to this Process; - Holders of a foreign academic degree in law, recognizing that the Scientific Council meet the objectives of a degree; - Holders of an academic, scientific or professional Scientific Council recognizes that the ability to attest to this cycle of studies. - Candidates for the course of study leading to master's degree must have a final mark set by the Scientific Council billion annually, by 31 October.

Graduation Requirements

The cycle of studies conducive to the degree of master integrates a course of specialization (60 ECTS) and a dissertation of scientific nature, that corresponds to 60 ECTS in the Scientific Master's degree, or to 30 ECTS in the Master's degree in Legal and Forensic Sciences.
